Evaluation questions for my product
Movement - bowls pictures
From taking these photos it is clear that there are many improvements that I can make when taking action shots in the future, as the finished look of the photos I feel did affect the finished look and overall presentation of my paper as they looked unprofessional.
It was a real problem taking the photos as I wanted to encourperate my main story from the front page onto my second page as a carried on story as id seen in one of my style models 'The Evening Post' and to do this I needed to change the area and poeple in the shot and the way type of shot. To do this I went to a competition to get an action shot-but in doing this I encountered difficulties as I was not able to put the flash on during the match which effected the quality of my pictures.
To improve this next time I will try to plan a different environment to take the pictures to ensure I can use the camera to the best wuality I can and to get the best finished shot, I do feel however that through taking these pictures and encounting these difficulties I have learnt a great deal and which will benefit my future work.

Making the Lonely hearts 'ear'
I wanted to ensure that one of the elements on the ears of my paper would give an insight into what my paper contains.
In order to do this I had to take a photo of a person on a bench, so that I would be able to crop out the background so it would be a clear picture that I could use to put in for the advertisement.
I had to use the magic wand and lasso tool in order for me to create the clean finished look which i did that eliminated the background from the photo.
I do however feel that I could have improved the picture as there are still elements of the background visible through the holes on the bench which I found to hard to remove, so this would be an element that I would need to plan around in the future.
Elements from my style model
i chose to use the element that is used in the evening post of having a column in the left hand side regarding who to contact with inquiries with and questions or problems, I also chose to use it as I feel its a feature of the evening post that gives it a professional look and therefore I wanted to try and incorporate that into my own work.
The column also contain insight into the regular features that the paper contains which is a feature that gives the reader a clear idea about what the paper will include.
I also chose to use the ears at the top of the evening post as inspiration to use in my own paper. I chose to use this idea as it is also done by national papers such as the Sun so I felt that this is a convention of a paper that should be followed in order to make my paper have a professional look.
It is also a way to advertise and broadcast the features of the paper, which I did through the lonely hearts ad and also a way to increase readership and sales of the paper which I did through the competition to win an Ipad 2.

Practice photos
Through taking these photos I was able to learn about the lighting on the finishing shot of the pictures. I was able to adapt to the time of day, natural lighting and inside lighting to improve the quality of the overall finished picture, which is done before editing the picture on photo shop.
