When taking the photographs for my paper I used two different types of still cameras and I also tried to use my phone to take some photos.
I found that when taking my photos for my product as there was going to be elements of movement in the shots of the girl bowling so I needed a camera to be able to capture this.
When using my Blackberry camera to try and take the photos it was not suitable for the type of shot I was looking for in the photo as it was to blurry and on the camera it does not have a flash which affected the overall finished look of the movement shot, and the other still shots that I was trying to capture were affected by this also, so I decided not to use any of the shots used from my Blackberry camera.
I then tried to use my own camera to take the photos needed which is a Nikon coolpix camera with 10.1 megapixels. However I found that when using this camer I was limited with zooming in on the products and this in turn effected the overall finished look of the photos I was taking. The camera was also not suitable for enlarging the pictures as this also affected the photo quality when I tried to enlarge the pictures to fit my screen.
When deciding on what camera to use I settled on using one of the schools still cameras, I chose to use this type of camera as it had the best finished quality look of the photos once I enlarged the images which helped me to create a better look for my product. I also found that this camera captured the movements better with less blurring of the movements during the bowls match.
However, although the camera was able to capture the images in a more officient way, I was limited by with the cameras full potential on my finished product as I was not allowed to use flash photography.
This barrier affected the overall finish of the movement photo taken as the flash gave me the ability to collect a more clear shot of the game in action, and as a concequence of not being able to use the flash the photo is slightly blurred.
My other photos taken for my paper such as the front page photo, and the ones for the ears of my paper are of a clear quality due to being able to use the flash, and I am pleased with the outcome and finished look of these photos.
The zooming in also affected the photo quality of my paper as I needed to be able to view the elements of the photos in a clear light which is also why the photos inside the bowls club were not as successful as they could have been if this had not been a factor.
Finally the building site photo that I took was from a high window. I had to take it from this angle in order to capture the wide scale of the area affected and being used by the building site and builders on the school groud to reach the full potential of my story that wanted to shock the audience as to how the school looks.
As the picute had to be taken through the window, I took some through the glass and without being through the glass to see what quality gave a better finish and I found that with the picture being taken through the glass I was able to get a better range for the picture so chose to use one of those shots.
