Fonts used

In order to create a realistic finish of my paper I ensured that I used a variety of font ypes on my paper and poster.

When looking into other papers (both national and local) I found that they all have a variety of fonts used for different texts and types of stories, also depending on where abouts the story or text featured, so I tried to encourperate this into my own work.

For the masthead of my piece i used- Constantia Bold- This font was used as it was a clear big and bold font that would make the title of my paper the main focus which is what would initially attract the audiences attention which it important.

For the ears of my piece I used- Thonburi- I chose this text as it doesnt distract away from the title which I felt was important as the ears are above the masthead, it is also a clear font which made the presentation of the top of the paper clear.

For the feature (smaller stories) I used- Thornburi- I felt that this font was clear and suited to the space that I wanted my smaller stories to fit into.

For the feature story headings I used- Thornburi bold- I made the titles of the stories bold so that the audience would be attracted to the headings and to make clear seperations  between the text and titles.

For the feature collum I used- Thornburi- I used this to make it clear. It is also in a different colour to the other thornburi texts which enhances how much in stands out and how clear it is.

For my main feature headline- Riad web pro bold- I chose to have the feature in bold so that it stands out from the subheading.

For my main feature subheading-minion pre bold-This font was more rounded which made it evident that it was the feature heading, which is important so that it wasnt the first thing the reader is drawn to.

For the main story texts (both stories)- Minion pro reg- These texts worked well alongside the other elements of the paper.

For the advert I used- adver (spiral) apple chancery- I chose this font as it was very different to the other texts i had used for the rest of the paper, which would therefore make the advert stand out.

I also used italics for the name and email address of one of the reporters of the stories to ensur ehtat it was seen as seperate from the rest of the text.

I chose to used a variety of texts to conform to the other papers and syle models that I looked into. I think that it is important for the paper to use a variety of fonts to make the overall finish clear, and so that it is eveident to the reader which stories go with the subheadings.
